Clara Kanclerz graduated from the University of Michigan in 2026, studying Environmental Studies, specializing in Environmental Policy and Law. She first started at SDEV during the summer of 2025, working on documentation and reporting for the Summer Youth Employment Program. It was this time with SDEV that strengthened Clara’s aspirations to work at the community level in order to build a sustainable relationship between people and the environment.

Currently, Clara is focused on ensuring that everyone has access to clean air, water, and green spaces, and supporting Southwest Detroit’s youth in the creation and advocacy of these environmental needs.
