Alejandro Hernandez,
Community Web & Data Specialist
Alejandro attends the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, studying Computer Science and Mathematics on the Pre-Law track. He is SDEV's Web and Data Specialist, working on the port planning project. On that project, he built a data pipeline that scraped and matched over 850 port-corridor job postings to local employers, then geocoded and mapped 127 of them on an interactive site so residents can see who's hiring near them. He is driven by a sense of urgency for assisting underserved populations through technology, and hopes to continue this work at SDEV. His previous work experience ranges from physics research in cancer, daycare worker, machine learning engineer, and office assistant. At school he is involved at The Michigan Daily as a data journalist, a Dancer in the University's Folklorico group, and a web developer for the university's website.
