Hi, my name is Nico and I'm a 7th-year garden leader here at CUGM. I have been involved in the garden since 2014 after my older sister brought my brothers and I to help her in the space. After that, we continued to volunteer in order to help support our community and work on food justice issues within SW Detroit. Throughout my time here I have learned a vast amount regarding teamwork, collaboration, community building, and environmental stewardship. I also have developed extensive knowledge on urban agriculture as a whole and stormwater management through the different collaborative projects we have worked on in the garden over the years.
