Scarcyny Park & Garden

Scarcyny Park & Garden was developed April 30th, 2011 as a collaboration between Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision, The Ideal Group, Congress of Communities, and Better Days Ministry as an opportunity for members of the Southwest Detroit community to meet and connect with one another. Used as perennial garden and recreation space the garden design consists of a variety of trees and landscape beds including native perennials, a wildlife habitat, annual flowers, a sports field and and a small sledding hill.  The community garden project has attracted volunteers from all walks of life interested in “planting a seed” of hope and revealing the beauty hidden within the metropolitan Detroit area.
