“Maggie Striz Calnin has managed government funded clean diesel projects and developing partnerships with public and private fleets since 2007. Ms. Striz Calnin currently manages SDEV’s Michigan Clean Diesel project Clean Air Clean Streets Collaborative (see Section IV) working with two industry partners.  Ms. Striz Calnin holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science Pre-Law from Michigan State University and a Master of Natural Resources degree from Virginia Polytechnic and State University (Virginia Tech).”

“Maggie Striz Calnin is the Healthy Air Program Manager for Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision. Ms. Striz Calnin built her expertise by working with private-sector, public-sector, and third-sector (nonprofit) organizations to develop, fund, and manage projects. Her background includes work in politics and government as well as experience in community organizing and issue advocacy. She has developed and managed a variety of programs and projects funded by international, federal, and state agencies, as well as multi-national non-governmental organizations. Ms. Striz Calnin has served as executive director of a nonprofit organization and has in a volunteer capacity on nonprofit boards and local government commissions. Ms. Striz Calnin’s international experience includes working with the Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Facility (a programme of the UK Department for International Development) and the Office of the Chief Economic Advisor to the President of Nigeria, as well as with a boutique guest house in Xizhou, China to develop a sustainability plan for the hotel, which is located in an ecologically significant lake basin. Ms. Striz Calnin holds a Master of Natural Resources degree from Virginia Tech as a member of the inaugural cohort of the XMNR Leadership for Sustainability program. She also holds a B.A. in Political Science-Pre Law from Michigan State University. Her professional development activities include completing the Sustainable Communities Certificate Program (MSU) and The Grantsmanship Center’s Project Planning and Proposal Development certification program.
